We’ve tracked down a selection of the best dog walking routes around Britain to help you find the best place to book.

The Lake District
Woodland, wildlife, and World Heritage status, England’s largest National Park shoots to the top of our list for the perfect dog friendly getaway location.
Lake Windermere:
- Where to walk: Miles Without Stiles, Windermere’s Western Shore (5.5 miles). A tarmac road and smooth stone track lead you to the quiet west shore, a world away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere.
- Where to stay: Make your pooch feel pampered at the Hilthwaite hotel, which has special rooms catering just for canines and a doggy hamper on arrival.
Keswick:
- Where to walk: Derwent Water (8 miles). Starts in Keswick and stretches around the lake with shallow shores along the way (perfect for a pooch who likes to paddle).
- Where to stay: Inn On The Square. A comfortable, dog-friendly hotel in the heart of Keswick.
Devon
Like the sound of craggy coves, cream teas, surf breaks and picnics? Look no further than Devon for the perfect scenic staycation.
Dartmoor
- Where to walk: Fingle Bridge (6.5 miles). Take the first path on the right after this historic bridge and cross the wooden walkway on the left to begin your stroll.
- Where to stay: Mill End Hotel. With comfy lounges and log fires, you and your dog will feel right at home.
Branscombe
- Where to walk: Branscombe to Beer Coastal Walk (6 miles). A long, scenic walk, this seaside route offers stunning views of the Jurassic Coast.
- Where to stay: The Masons Arms. This welcoming hotel is located just a 10 minute stroll from the beach.
Norfolk
Full of coastline walks, beautiful landscapes, and lots of things to do, Norfolk is a team favourite!
Stiffkey
- Where to walk: Stiffkey to Wells-Next-The-Sea (6 miles). This charming walk offers stunning views of mud flats, salt marshes, creeks and sailing boats. Make sure you grab some fish and chips at the halfway point.
- Where to stay: Stiffkey Red Lion. This friendly hotel is a great place to eat and drink, as well as an ideal base for exploring the beautiful coast.
Cromer
- Where to walk: Cromer to the Roman Camp at Beeston Regis (6.25 miles). Head from Cromer to the quiet of the Roman Camp, one of the highest points in Norfolk, for wonderful views of the sea.
- Where to stay: Whitehorse Overstrand. This lively pub prides itself on local produce and real ale, with the option of pet-friendly rooms.
