    Ecology Dogs

Ecology dogs are the world’s first water vole detection dogs. They work throughout the UK on conservation projects helping to survey and monitor the presence of water voles. The water vole is Britain’s fastest declining mammal and has disappeared from many parts of the country where it was once common.

Stig is an English springer spaniel and has a wealth of experience in search work. He is their key water vole search dog, searching for and indicating on the presence of water vole latrines.

Lola is a sprocker spaniel, she has just begun her career as a search dog and will be working on water vole surveys across the UK.

Both dogs are trained and handled by Ali Charnick, who has a BSc in Conservation and Environment and over 10 years of experience within conservation and ecology. The dogs are trained to give a passive indication on their target and are trained on a reward basis. They both love tennis balls and their favourite treats are Harringtons Training Treats.

    Wiggly Dog & Friends

Sarah Hanson comes from a farming family and has been involved with all aspects surrounding farm life from a young age. Helping on the farm as a child almost always involved dogs. Dogs became her passion. Sarah decided to make dogs her career, studying Animal Behaviour Science at The University of Lincoln and qualifying as a behaviourist specialising in dogs.

Since qualifying as an animal behaviourist she went on to set up her own behaviour consultancy. Working with clients all over the United Kingdom covering issues from recall to aggression, domestic training and behaviour modification all the way through to training working dogs. Her most common calling is to ‘problem’ gundogs, succeeding where others have failed.

Sarah currently has seven of her own dogs they are increasingly being used for TV and film. Four are English Springer Spaniels, one is ‘preloved’ & three from pups. She also has a ‘preloved’ German Wirehaired Pointer and a Belgian Shepherd Malinois cross which is a rescue dog. Sarah competes with her gundogs in club working tests, scurry’s, obedience and is currently training Malinois cross, Tilly and Spaniel, Ben in IPO (Tracking, Obedience & Protection).

During the shooting season Sarah and her Spaniels are busy picking up and beating on shoots all over the midlands and during the close season helping run scurry events and in main arenas demonstrating what she does best; motivating the problem dog.

    Companion Dogs UK

Companion Dogs UK was founded by Sean Percival-Scott. They offer an empowerment program which helps those who suffer from a mental or physical health condition, by partnering and training them with an appropriate canine companion. The ‘Dogs day’ program is put together to make sure that those who are currently unable to have a dog full-time don’t miss out. The acceptance project is working alongside housing associations and shelters to enable the successful residency of homeless people with their dog.
