Harringtons Optimum Rabbit Food is a complementary feed for rabbits, containing a single all-in-one nugget to help avoid selective feeding.

It contains a wide variety of high quality ingredients and is fortified with vitamins to help support your rabbit’s immune system. We add yeast extracts and high fibre ingredients to help promote a healthy digestion.

We recommend providing unlimited access to fresh hay or fresh grass and water as an essential part of your rabbit’s diet, which are needed to aid the digestive process.

Harringtons provides the conventional benefits associated with premium pet foods.

Feeding Guide

Young Rabbit

100-130g Per day

Adult Rabbit

130-150g Per day

Doe & Litter

350-400g Per day

The recommended daily servings shown in the chart are a guide only. Rabbits need access to fresh hay and water at all times. Hay is essential to help them maintain a healthy digestion. They enjoy variety and appreciate the addition of fresh food in their diet several times each week. Washed apples, broccoli and cabbage are ideal. It is unkind to overfeed your pet, so adjust the amount you feed to keep them at their ideal weight. Chewing small twigs from trees such as apple and hazel helps to keep their teeth strong and healthy. When changing food, do so gradually over a 7 to 10 day period.

Help & Advice

FAQ

What is the difference between small dog food and another adult food except for the size of the kibbles?

Small dogs can benefit from extra protein in their diet, which the small breed dog food gives them.

What are the phosphorous levels of your dry foods?

We do not measure phosphorous levels in our foods. If your dog requires a low/high phosphorous
level on advice from your vet, you will need a specialist food. Your vet should be able to advise you.

When do you change a puppy from puppy food to adult food?

The point at when you change over from puppy to adult food is a personal choice. General advice is to begin to make the change once your puppy is around three-quarters expected adult size and
many people choose to do so at some point between 9 and 18 months.

The main difference between our puppy and adult varieties is that puppy contains higher levels of protein to assist with the high growth rate associated with that life stage. Our adult varieties are suitable to feed from the age of 8 weeks, although when feeding an adult variety to a growing puppy we do advise that you feed according to your puppy's appetite. This ensures they grow at the correct rate and consume enough nutrients to support this.

Do you make a food for a diabetic dog?

We do not add sugar to our Harringtons dog food but there are natural sugars present in the
ingredients. Usually complex carbohydrates such as those found in whole grain are best as these are broken down in the digestive system slowly and so avoid peaks and troughs in the sugar levels in the body. In most of our foods we do use whole grain wheat and/or maize which take longer to digest. We therefore do not recommend grain free food for diabetic dogs.

It is often a good idea to feed your dog small portions of food more often as this will also help to keep sugar levels stable.
