We don’t know about you but we’re happy to be leaving January behind. Not only does the start of February mean a step in the right direction towards longer days and better weather, but for those who managed Dry January, pub stops are back on the cards. What better way to spend a Sunday than a nice, country dog walk ending with a roast dinner and a couple of drinks?

For dog owners, finding somewhere your pooch is made to feel as welcome as you are can be a bit tricky, so we’ve put together a list of our favourite dog-friendly pubs from across the country to give you some inspiration.

The Endeavour, Whitby: Situated in the heart of a charming, Yorkshire seaside town, this cosy pub is a great place to stop off with your pooch, and lets you bring in your own fish and chips.

The Dog and Gun, Keswick: Take a stroll in the Lake District then visit this friendly pub that serves a great variety of hearty pub food.

The Victoria Inn, Salcombe: Set in a fantastic location in the centre of Devon, this pooch-friendly pub serves excellent food and drink in front of a roaring fire, and will treat your dog like any other guest.

The Village Inn Pub, Lynmouth: This cosy pub serves great value food and real ale, making every man and their dog feel at home.

Tom O’The Wood, Exeter: This canalside pub sits on a beautiful walking route and has a wide variety of excellent quality food, from seafood to roast dinner (and lots of dog biscuits!)

The Crown Hotel Restaurant, Dawes: Muddy wellies and dogs are welcome in this charming pub in the centre of the Lake District, which serves great food in a cosy atmosphere.

Poachers Pocket, Bacton: Situated in the heart of Norfolk, this coastal pub offers stunning seaside views and an extensive menu of great quality food.

Swan with Two Nicks, Altrincham: A friendly pub on the outskirts of Manchester, the great food and selection of real ales and ciders is extremely popular with dog walkers.

The Black Dog, Weymouth: Found in the heart of Dorset, the oldest pub in the town offers friendly staff, a jukebox and great quality pub grub.
