Heaton Park is located a few miles north of the city centre of Manchester in Higher Blackley, and access from the main road can be made through several entrances.
This dogventure takes place in one of Manchester’s finest parks. Heaton Park is the largest park in Manchester covering 600 acres of woodland, lakes and picturesque ornamental gardens to explore and play fetch in.
Take a walk through the park and stop off to let your dog take a dip in the boating lake, chase squirrels in the woodland and splash in the stream.
The walk is fairly flat with one small incline into the woodland area where you will find a sculpture trail with tree carvings to look out for.
In various areas of the park there are beautiful views across the city of Manchester, look out for ornamental birds, wildfowl, highland cattle and grey squirrels.
The site is also home to the Grade II listed Heaton Hall so there is plenty for you to see, as well as other architectural gems including an ornamental temple, papal monument and colonnade.
The two-mile walk takes approximately one hour to walk, and the park is open from 8am to dusk every day.
